ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Education and Training
Teaching activities: courses in hip and knee replacement, as well as diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Tomasz Poboży, MD, PhD, has delivered well over 40 courses attended by hundreds of doctors. His teaching covers hip and knee replacement, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures. These activities include courses at the Centre for Medical Education in Warsaw, the Academy of Ultrasound in Poznań, and his own independently organised courses and workshops. He has served as a course organiser, scientific director and instructor. Surgical courses have covered primary and revision hip replacement, comparison of anterior and posterior hip approaches, and primary knee replacement. Practical training, including sessions using fresh-frozen anatomical specimens, has been an important part of this work. He began his teaching collaboration with the Centre for Medical Education in 2015 and taught at the Academy of Ultrasound in Poznań in 2014–2016.
His teaching connects operative and diagnostic experience: it covers the practical stages of joint replacement, identifying structures on ultrasound and guiding a needle under imaging. International training that he attended as a participant, including cadaver courses and surgical observation, is described separately under Biography and Qualifications.
