FOR DOCTORS AND PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
Hand and wrist
Care after surgery on nerves, tendons, ligaments, the wrist and hand joints.

Protocols and individual care
The individual case, the individual patient, the individual surgeon. The pace of rehabilitation depends on the repaired structure, reconstruction stability, the technique used and tissue quality. After tendon and ligament surgery, movement restrictions should protect the repair while accounting for the risk of adhesions and stiffness.
The type of orthosis, permitted range of motion, grip loading and timing of active exercises should follow the operative report and the orthopaedic surgeon’s instructions. Missing information must be obtained before changing subsequent stages.
